The dead body of Former Prime Minister and Chairperson Pakistan People’s Party Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto has been laid to rest.

GARHI KHUDA BAKSH: The dead body of former prime minister and chairperson Pakistan People’s Party Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto has been laid to rest in her family graveyard in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh amid touching scenes.

Hundreds of thousands of mourners attended the burial. They include Benazir Bhutto’s relatives, friends, important personalities, party leaders, workers and people in large number.

Earlier, the mourners offered the namaz-e-janaza of the forme prime minister. Hafiz Hakim Ali Mangi led the namaz-e-janaza.

The body of Mohtarmma Benazir Bhutto was laid beside the grave of her father and former prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

The vast crowds let out a huge roar as Bhutto's body arrived at the family burial ground in the village of Ghari Khuda Baksh, witnesses said.

The white ambulance carrying Bhutto's coffin -- wrapped in the black, green and red flag of her Pakistan People's Party -- took over two hours to crawl the five kilometres (3.2 miles) from her family home in nearby Naudero to the final resting place.

As the casket passed through the crowds hanging off every street corner and building lining the route, many mourners surged towards the vehicle, wailing and beating their chests in a frenzied outpouring of grief.

In front of the mausoleum, where Bhutto's father and two brothers are also buried, thousands of people gathered on a dusty patch of open ground. Many of them waved Bhutto party flags.

Benazir's body had been flown down to Sukkur from Islamabad on Friday morning accompanied by her husband Asif Zardari and their three children.

The coffin was then flown by helicopter to her family home in Naudero before being transferred to an ambulance for the final stage.
